Far-Right, Far-left, High Road

Here are some links to sites that seem to fairly compare the left and right leaning politics:

Left Wing vs Right Wing   Tell Whether You are Right-Wing or Left-Wing

Or, you can just search for ‘politics right versus left’ or something similar. But, be careful!
Like our comparisons below, many of the sites you find will be strongly biased one way or the other – trying to sell you on the far-left or far-right point of view.

Here is our comparisons:
Far Right

Here are what seems to be the current behaviors and agenda of the ‘far-right’ or ‘tea party’:
Disagree?  Give us your list at moreinfo@stevepearce.info

- Hate and outwardly discriminate against Democrats – to include personal slurs.
- Primarily support large corporations and the very rich – who pay to get them elected.
- Disregard or minimize the use of facts, science and research to discover and fix issues.
- Will not abandon the ‘tea party’ tribe for any reason.
- Watch FOX cable news almost exclusively. Seldom watch CNN. May watch PBS occasionally.
- Use Fox news ‘alternate facts’ to support their beliefs – which reinforces their beliefs.
- No gun controls!  Candidates are usually fully supported by the NRA with money. Anyone can own a fully automatic rifle  See this link  (Iraq may be the only other nation that allows fully automatic weapons)
- No abortions ever!  Continued legislations to further restrict abortion based on religious beliefs.
- Ignore the constitution’s requirement for separation of Church and State.  (Birth control, assisted suicide, abortion are all ‘church’ issues! )
- Past or present lack of support for LGBT persons’ rights, gay marriage and the like. Support legislation to prohibit Gay marriage. (These also are mostly church issues.)
- Never raise taxes on the rich and corporations.
- Agenda (or votes) to cut taxes regardless if the cuts increase the deficit (passed on to our children).
- Cutting funding for social programs in order to massively expand funding for the military.
- Fully support the principle of ‘trickle down’ without questions or compromise.
- Refusal to criticize President Trump’s actions, agenda or bad (if not immoral) behavior.
- Past or present support to kill, not fix, the ACA (Obama Care).
- Refusal to work with Democrats to fix issues with ACA.

- Will not criticize (or try to reverse) cancelation of the Dream Act by President Trump.
- Remove all oversite (regulations) on corporations, banks and eliminate the EPA and other regulatory agencies.
- Privatize FCC, FAA, Prisons, Schools Etc. (Even the military – E.G. Blackwater)
- Unreasonable support for the oil and gas industry and lack of support for reasonable restrictions.
- Failure to criticize actions by POTUS to make the EPA ineffective or the EPA’s lack of enforcement of current law.
- Support to keep cannabis (THC and CBD and other cannabinoids)  a class three dangerous and illegal substance.
- Support the pharmaceutical industry to keep cannabis illegal – protecting their profits.
- Inability to or refusal to work with Independents or Democrats on legislation to solve difficult issues.
- Often fail to criticize those who have racist beliefs or make racist comments.
- Very high percentage of votes to support (or not counter) the present agenda of President Trump.
- Campaign on Jobs and Education – avoid all other important issues.

Far Left

Here are what seems to be the current behaviors and agenda of ‘far-left’ politics:
Disagree?  Give us your list at moreinfo@stevepearce.info

- Hate and outwardly discriminate against Republicans – to include personal slurs.
- Play down or deny they are supported by the rich and large corporations.
- Disregard or minimize the use of facts, science and research to discover and fix issues.
- Will not abandon their tribe for any reason.
- MSNBC cable news spins in their favor, FOX news spins against them.
- Watch MSNBC cable news almost exclusively.  Sometimes CNN and PBS occasionally.
- Support severe gun rights restrictions! (like Japan, Russia, North Korea -. See this link?)  Candidates never supported by the NRA.  NRA funds ads against them.
- Government funded abortions for anyone who wants one!
- LGBT persons should have rights beyond those of all other citizens. Business owners required to provide services, but Republicans can be denied services.
- Tax mostly the rich and corporations.  Provide social services to anyone with no requirement to work.
- Agenda (or votes) to raise taxes regardless of government waste and non-proven programs. (more money is simple – true solutions are hard)
- Cutting funding for the military and increased funding for social services.
- Fully support the principle of ‘trickle up’ without questions or compromise. Give the poor money - the economy will expand.
- Refusal to criticize President Clinton, or Obama’s actions, agenda or bad (if not immoral) behavior.
- Past or present support to leave the ACA (Obama Care) as it is - or fund more free services with taxes.
- Refusal to work with Republicans to fix issues with ACA.
- Insist on NO additional walls on our southern border and support more open borders with limited security. More interested in grandstanding than compromise.
- Full support for immigration including immigrant refugees and their children with limited security.
- Did not criticize our Immigration policy under Clinton or Obama.
- Unreasonable restrictions on oil and gas exploration, and that industry – at the expense of the economy.
- Create more government regulations – at the expense of economic and social growth.
- Failure to evaluate the full economic effects of over protecting the environment. E.G. closure of public lands to protect a lizard; restricting forest harvest creating fire prone overgrowth!
- Full support of legal cannabis (THC and CBD) with little regard for some fixable consequences.
- Support the use of cannabis for medical purposes without research and FDA approval for safety.
- Inability to or refusal to work with Independents or Republicans on legislation to solve difficult issues.
- Very high percentage of votes to oppose present agenda of President Trump – for show.
- Watch MSNBC cable news almost exclusively.  Sometimes CNN and PBS occasionally.
- Campaign on the environment and LGBT issues – ignore other important issues.

The High Road

Perhaps a candidate with the following behaviors and agenda would lead us on road toward a more perfect union:
This is probably left leaning – give us your list at  moreinfo@stevepearce.info )

- Try not to hate anyone – not easy in today’s environment.
- Respect and listen to the beliefs, needs, plans, ideas of those in the other party.
- Support and insist on the use of facts, science and research to discover and fix issues or create new programs.
- MSNBC and FOX cable news networks probably do little coverage of these persons – no controversy means no money for the network.
- Reasonable gun controls while protecting fully the rights of lawful and sane gun owners!   Many advanced nations have reasonable gun control See this link
- The NRA probably never heard of these candidates – but would probably oppose them.
- A woman has the right to choose but the Government should not fund abortion – thus separation of Church and State takes precedence while allowing religions their point of view..
- LGBT-O persons should have the same and only the same rights of all other citizens.
- A balance budget! Taxes should support the programs necessary for the health of our nation and people – the pursuit of and achievement of happiness for all who contribute to their level of ability.
- Works with the other party and the office of budget – uses facts and science to guide the direction of programs. Would support short term deficits in emergencies but insist on long term balanced budgets.
- Balance funding for social programs and the military.
- Supports neither the principle of ‘trickle down’ or ‘trickle up’. Works hard to find solutions that are proven to work and limit or remove programs that do not produce the desired effects.  Requires research and data!
- Supports only regulations necessary for the safety and protection of our people and the nation.
- Critiques the president when he or she behaves in immoral or reckless ways.
- Never condones immoral nasty behavior of their peers, other politicians or the administration but never demeans or personally attacks anyone.
- Shows leadership and works hard to fix the ACA (Obama Care), immigration or other programs with proven issues.
- Works for compromise to fix issues with ACA and immigration.
- Supports securing our borders without hardships on those wishing to join and contribute to our great nation and without creating massive numbers of criminals. Would allow as many immigrants as our nation can afford based on security, resources and funding.
- Supports humanistic tolerance for immigration including immigrant refugees and their children.
- Will criticize cancelation of the Dream Act by President Trump but work to find a solution
- Reasonable support for the oil and gas industry and reasonable restrictions to protect the Earth’s environment.
- Works to fund the EPA’s enforcement of current law while continuing to change the laws to reflect the changing reality (chemicals found to be dangerous, climate change, Etc.)
- Supports and funds research on cannabis and cannabinoids (THC and CBD).  Uses current research to continue or change the drug classification of cannabis.
- Supports reasonable oversite of corporations, banks, and government agencies.
- Shows LEADERSHIP work with Independents, Democrats and Republicans legislation to solve difficult issues.
- Campaign on the current needs and issues of their constituents including those of both parties.
- Votes support all the people in their district or State and the nation – does not have a tribal agenda.

So, what candidates have the most matches in their behavior and actions.  We would hope you would vote for a candidate who most often takes the ‘high road’ – regardless of party affiliation.
